Field Examination

Many auditors and field examiners are good at filling out spreadsheets, but they lose focus thinking that the job is done when the spreadsheets have been populated.    Our job is not only to complete workpapers; our job is to assess your collateral.  Our focus is to help you judge your risk, to protect your business from unnecessary risk caused by unidentified issues as a result of shallow or unperformed analysis.  

Our team has managed and performed field examinations and inventory evaluations for a multitude of industries.  Our inventory work has taken us from the top of grain elevators to underground oil storage, from the clean environment of a NASA supplier’s chip room to actual pig pens.  Quite frankly, we’ve been there, have seen it (and at times have bought the shirt as a souvenir).

Pre-loan Exams – We will calculate availability and analyze collateral.  But we do much more.  We will gain a thorough understanding of the procedures and systems.  We interview and evaluate management.  We identify weaknesses in the business enterprise.  We make meaningful recommendations regarding the collateral and the credit structure.

Monitoring Exams – Aside from calculating availability and analyzing collateral, we identify instances of potential non-compliance with negative and affirmative covenants and we identify weakness in the credit structure.  We will make noteworthy suggestions on how to improve the lenders position.
